Whether you’re looking for a big rig that will make daily cross-continental hauls or you’re searching for a work truck that will stand up to the beating of your industry, the power of the Internet has made commercial truck for sale easy to find, test, and purchase.
There are many online truck sales sites. With just a few clicks and some typing in the address bar, potential buyers find themselves staring at commercial trucks for sale in a variety of categories. Truckers can choose to peruse big trucks, trailers medium duty trucks, Kenworth commercial trucks, Peterbilt commercial trucks, Volvo commercial trucks, Mack commercial trucks etc. In each category, truckers will find numerous listings by make and model, or truckers can choose simply to browse. Truckers can view listings, photos, and truck specs, then save listings in which they are interested to a folder for a later time.
In addition, searchable sites allows truckers looking to unload a commercial vehicle to list it for sale, and online auctions are a new and potentially money saving way to trucks. Many sites allow truckers to view photos and specs on vehicles that have been seized by bankruptcy courts and are now being sold at public auction. Buyers can learn about physical locations for auctions, where they can go to view the truck, and actually buy and pay for a commercial vehicle online.
Although auction sites may seem risky to those who are new in the cyber world, they are great places to start the search for a commercial vehicle. Whether truckers are looking for big rigs and trailers or medium-duty vans, the Internet, with its commercial truck listings and auctions, is at least an excellent starting point for research, if not a place to buy.

Buying a commercial truck can be a large undertaking; if you run a small business it may be one of your biggest purchases if not the biggest. Even if you company is large, the need to replace a truck or add to your fleet requires some thought and financial planning.
Inevitably, one of the main decisions is whether you go for a new truck with new all singing, all dancing accessories or whether a good used truck will fulfil your needs. Once you have pinned down your needs, a search on the Internet on a second-hand truck website will save you time as it will quickly show you a wide range of trucks in the category and/or price range you have chosen.
If you are starting up a new venture then paying instalments on a new truck may be too much of a financial burden. A used truck will allow you to test the waters without too high a risk. Also ask yourself what you really need in terms of size, accessories and gadgets? It may be that you can get by with a small fairly simple used truck most of the time and rent a bigger more sophisticated truck only on the odd occasions that you need it.
Similarly a consideration of engine size is important; if you will often be driving a long way and/or regularly carrying heavy loads then a large engine may be worth it, but bear in mind that a larger engine will affect initial cost, fuel costs and probably repair and service costs.
You also need to think whether you regularly need towing capabilities and how many passenger seats you require. Consideration of all of these factors before you make a purchase could save you money, increase your profits and prevent a nagging feeling of regret at not having made the best decision you could.
Online purchase of a used commercial truck is not really too different to more traditional modes of buying. In many ways it is just easier as you can get a wide range of information about a number of vehicles, including photos, right in front of you in your own home. You will still want to check age and mileage as well as service and maintenance records and how long the current M.O.T. is. If you are not satisfied with the information you find on the Internet then you can always find out if you can contact the seller by email or phone to ask for further clarifications on any specifics about the truck you are interested in.
Areas where you can increase your confidence in the process include consideration of brand and warranty. There are Ottawa trucks, Freightliner trucks, Mack trucks, GMC trucks, Peterbilt trucks, Kenworth trucks etc. If you know such a trusted truck making company with a reputation for quality and longevity in relation to their vehicles, then a slightly older truck from that company may still represent a good buy all other things considered. In addition many sellers of used trucks offer warranties, some extendable or expandable by paying more. With a warranty you can relax knowing that any unforeseen faults will be covered.

If you are planning to shift to a new place, be it across the state or to a new country, you obviously would want to take all the pieces of furniture and stuff you had collected, which you hold special to you, instead of selling them off and buying new ones. Well then what better way to do that than to rent a truck! You can decide on the size of the truck depending on how much stuff you have. There are different commercial trucks like pickups, dump trucks, boom trucks, semi trucks, crane trucks etc. There are also various branded commercial trucks like Ford commercial truck, Peterbilt commercial truck, Kenworth commercial truck, Ottawa commercial truck etc.
Make enquiries about truck rental companies:
Finding a good rental company may be difficult, as there are so many these days. Here are some points that one should keep in mind while renting a truck:
• See if the rental company has branches in the same city you are moving to. This way you will only have to pay for a one way move. Many companies do accommodate that, but they ask for upfront payment, so this way you end up paying the company for the return journey as well. You may not be aware of this, as you may assume that you are paying extra for the service charge incase they do not have a branch there. Make enquiries before you book.
• It is always advisable to book the truck well in advance once you have decided on the rental company. Sometimes you may not get the truck on the day you want, especially during the peak season. So always call in advance to reserve a truck for yourself, preferably a week or two in advance.
• Make enquiries about the rental charges in different rental companies to find out which price suits you best. Some companies may also charge more for new and well maintained trucks, than they do for old trucks. You have to decide based on that, which one you want. Some truck rentals may also offer special services as compared to other companies. Find out the distance to be traveled, as they may charge according to distance, and for every extra mile you travel, you may be charged extra.
• The size of the truck will be based on the number of rooms to be moved. Generally, a 26 foot truck will accommodate a 4–plus bedroom house, and a cargo van or trailer can be used for shifting small offices. It is always better to book a larger truck, this way you can be sure all the goods will fit in.
• The rental companies may also offer optional insurance plans such as cargo insurance, accident insurance, and loss and damage insurance. Find out about all the coverage from all different companies, and then decide which one you think is best for you. Make sure that you call your credit card companies before signing the agreement.
Rental trucks are convenient, and the good part is you do not even have to shell out a lot of money for your shifting. They are a cost effective way to move your stuff to your new place. It’s as simple as renting a car to move about the city - you just have to decide on the rental company, and rent their truck to transport your belongings. The rental cost all depends on the size of the truck and the distance to be traveled. Some of the rental companies even have major branches in all the different cities, thus saving you money by just paying for the one way truck rental.

A recent study conducted by the state of Washington found that the number of truck accidents involving log trucks has declined by 11 percent even as the number of accidents involving all commercial trucks increased by 15 percent over a two-year period. Commercial truck accidents are considered the most expensive and fatal vehicular accidents that can occur throughout the country. The ripple effects of a commercial truck accident can often be vast and devastating to victims, family members and friends.
What are Commercial Trucks, Log Trucks?
In the United States, commercial trucks, also commonly referred to as heavy duty trucks, are those vehicles used to transport cargo and weighing more than 26,001 pounds in which case a commercial truck driver’s license is also needed. Commercial trucks transport a number of goods and products across state lines and throughout the country including food supplies and logs and some are specifically designed for tasks such as mixing and moving concrete as well as transporting light trucks for military use.
Researchers have reported that while the construction of commercial trucks continues to improve, the level of quality still remains well below the quality level of automobiles and it has been said that commercial trucks remain well below automobiles in quality due mainly to the fact that nearly 3/4 of all commercial trucks are custom built, causing inefficiencies in steamlining a commercial truck assembly line. However, a lengthy list of popular commercial truck manufacturers remains both worldwide and in America. The list of top commercial trucks by manufacturers includes: Peterbilt commercial truck, International commercial truck, Kenworth commercial truck, Ottawa commercial truck etc.
Logging trucks and log truck drivers are no different from commercial trucks or commercial truck drivers, however, the Washington study conducted by the Washington State University found that a small group of log truck drivers are often considered seasoned and experienced drivers of the dangerous profession, which may be attributing to the total decrease of log truck accidents. However, the study also noted that as these individuals begin to retire, not only will the logging industry suffer, but accidents may begin to increase instead of decrease. The study noted that, “rising costs, aging drivers and long hours of service” as well as “other factors that could affect safety and economic viability include the ongoing effects of deregulation, poor driver recruitment” could all become factors responsible for a potential increase of log truck accidents.
Protecting Yourself from a Truck Accident :
Individuals who have been involved in a commercial truck accident are advised to seek medical assistance even if no signs or symptoms of an injury are present. Often, injuries sustained in a vehicular or commercial truck accident can remain unseen and may include internal bleeding or bruising, which could have fatal consequences on a victim if injuries are not immediately assessed and treated.Receiving a free legal consultation on injuries derived from a truck accident can provide relief from stress or worry over medical bills or automotive debts associated with a commercial truck collision or a log truck wreck.

Kenworth liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks were featured recently at the grand opening of a major LNG truck fueling station in Southern California.
Ten Kenworth T800 LNG trucks were displayed during ceremonies at the new facility, which will be operated by Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and is located at Southern Counties Express, a local drayage company. The vehicles will become the first new T800 LNG trucks to operate at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach when placed into service soon by Southern Counties Express. The Kenworth T800 commercial trucks for sale are equipped with the Westport Innovations LNG fuel system installed on the Cummins ISX 15-liter engine. The result is reduced emissions and less reliance on diesel fuel by running the cleaner LNG fuel.
Kenworth has worked closely with its Southern California dealer Inland Kenworth, Clean Energy, Westport Innovations and Southern Counties Express in the collaborative effort to put these new Kenworth T800s into service at the two Southern California ports, two of the nation’s busiest.
The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) are providing substantial funding for the environmental project, which focuses on achieving a significant reduction in emissions by trucks serving the two ports.
In addition to Kenworth T800 trucks, Kenworth’s dedication to the “green fleet” includes the EPA SmartWay(TM) program and medium duty hybrid-electric trucks.
Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, is a leading manufacturer of heavy duty trucks and medium duty trucks. Kenworth is the recipient of the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates awards for Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Over The Road, Pickup and Delivery and Vocational Segment Class 8 trucks.

The cost of fuel continues to rise, and that makes it difficult for just about everyone. If you are a trucking company or an owner operator though, you feel that hit at the pumps more than anyone due to the amount of fuel that commercial trucks need to operate. There is also the fact that they contribute significantly to pollution in the environment. The idea of commercial semi trucks has been in the works for quite some time to offset high fuel prices for truck drivers and to reduce their effects on the environment.
The idea of commercial vehicles has been in place for quite sometime, and there have been numerous test projects going on in recent years for commercial semi trucks. Some of these tests have been done with providing vehicles for the United States military. The results of these projects are very good, and the plan is to roll out commercial semi trucks in 2009.
Peterbilt trucks is considered to be a quality brand of semi truck, and they will be the first to introduce the commercial semi truck models. They will be available for viewing at the 2008 truck shows taking place in various locations.
Some trucking companies and owner operators have already placed their orders for commercial semi trucks and they are expected to do well in sales. Negotiations are currently in the works between Peterbilt and Wal-mart regarding the commercial semi trucks. This will be a tremendous contract for Peterbilt because Wal-Mart operates the second largest fleet of trucks in the United States.

Kenworth is another very reputable brand of semi truck, and they are working on commercial semi truck models of their own. While they already presented some models at truck shows in 2007, it is believed their production will be on a smaller scale. It is also believed their commercial models won’t come out until after those from Peterbilt are released. Kenworth is looking for a big trucking company to initiate contracts with though at this time.

It is estimated an over the road commercial semi truck can save the driver or the company at least $10,000 annually. This is quite a significant amount of additional profit for any owner operator to take notice of. For those trucking companies with thousands of trucks, this savings can quickly computer to hundreds of thousands of dollars being saved annually on fuel.
Some people remain skeptical about the used commercial semi trucks, but for the most part the trucking industry is excited about their introduction. This particular type of semi truck will significantly impact the trucking industry as we know it today. While these commercial semi trucks will be expensive, the amount of money that can be saved on fuel costs makes it a great investment. There will likely be plenty of incentives offered by the government when you buy a commercial semi truck as well.
With so many semi trucks on the road, the positive impact that commercial semi trucks will have on the environment are very encouraging as well. If you are interested in learning more about the future of commercial semi trucks, you can visit the Peterbilt commercial truck or the Kenworth commercial truck websites. You can also find out when they will be displaying their commercial models at future truck shows. This is a great way for you to get to see one of the commercial semi trucks up close and personal.

Buying a new commercial truck can be very confusing. Of course you could go for a well known brand or manufacturer like Ottawa commercial truck, Peterbilt commercial truck, Kenworth commercial trucks, International commercial truck, Mack commercial trucks etc… but still here are many options to consider.
Below are some guidelines that could point you in the right direction in buying a new truck.
The first thing that you should consider is “Size”. Ask yourself just how big a commercial truck do you need? This shouldn’t be a very difficult decision for you to make. All you have to consult are your needs and your budget.
Keep in mind the price of a new commercial truck varies. It can range from the affordable (like buying an ordinary car) to the very expensive (like buying a luxury car). A good basic commercial truck can be owned, while a full sized fully loaded commercial truck an go for as much or more.
Keep in mind one of the most important features of a commercial truck is its engine. So the engine should be a primary consideration when buying a commercial truck. Most commercial trucks will have a V6 engine. This type of engine consumes a fair amount of fuel depending on what you will be hauling or pulling. However, full sized commercial trucks usually have V8 engines that use up gas pretty fast. A diesel engine is recommended if you need lots of power for towing things around.
Another consideration is the number of people a commercial truck can carry. Would you be using the commercial truck to transport people? Then you would be better off buying an extended commercial truck which can carry more people. You could also get a crew cab which can be a very good replacement for a car and can also seat up to any individuals. But if you are basically using the commercial truck to tow and transport things, then you could just buy a regular commercial truck which can hold two to three individuals.
Determine the size of bed you will need. The bed is the part of the commercial truck used for transporting things. Commercial trucks usually are equipped with 6 to 8 foot beds.
Look at the drive-train options. Commercial trucks come with either a manual or automatic transmission and you could choose between a two wheel driven or a four wheel driven commercial truck. Many commercial trucks offer limited-slip or locking differentials and electronic traction control.
The Internet is a very good source for new and used commercial trucks. There are many websites specially dedicated to automobiles and trucks. From there, you can get in touch with commercial dealers. And even read a review of the truck for sale. Using such website is very easy for both sellers and buyers. Using such websites can definitely save you time when buying a commercial truck. Most automotive websites serve as an online market place for cars and commercial trucks. Sellers post the vehicle they want to sell. Then a buyer can browse through it. When a buyer wants to buy a vehicle, the website puts him touch with the seller. And that’s it. They will even handle the transporting to your driveway.

Peterbilt
Better low-beam performance
Peterbilt’s new Model 367 and Model 365 used trucks feature a new lighting system with 50 percent greater low-beam performance and 600 percent longer bulb life in a corrosion-resistant package, the company says. The Model of Peterbilt 367 is available in a heavy-haul configuration that features a high - capacity cooling system. Both models have a new bumper that is able to accommodate both a center hook configuration and a dual, removable pin configuration that meet TMC towing requirements. The trucks are available in up to 485 horsepower. Manual, automated, and automatic transmissions and a heavy-duty suspension. Some trucks never go out of style. The 365 arguably tops the list, making it a leader in resale.
Volvo
Tracks, communicates productivity
The Volvo Link Sentry onboard vehicle monitoring and communications system from Volvo Trucks and communicates key productivity and performance information each week for individual trucks. Some of the data reported include the following: fuel used; distance traveled and miles per gallon based on RPM, operations above or below preset roads speeds are tracked, and the truck owner can control these limits from the Internet; cruise control; idle time and fuel consumed; total fuel used for the week; low battery voltage; diesel particulate filter status; and diagnostic code summary. Each fleet’s information is kept on a secure Web site. This feature, which will be standard on all of the company’s trucks.
Kenworth W900L
Unmistakable Presence
The Kenworth W900L technically doesn’t have the biggest hood in the industry, but it looks like it does. The 86-inch, top-of-the-line studio apartment behind the cab makes the entire truck appear to be more than the sum of its parts; inside, the sleeper leaves very little to wish for. Kenworth is making the new hood available as a retrofit item for customers currently operating W900Ls with a curved windshield. These hoods are fabricated with Metton(r) liquid molding resin (LMR) from Metton America. Kenworth has built its reputation on durability and performance. Kenworth emphasizes high-tech options. The infrared night-vision system helps you perceive potential hazards as far as three to five times the length of headlight beams.

With so many Companies taking advantage of building their own truck search engines/databases one might ask how it is that we differentiate ourselves from the competition. At American Truck Buyer our goal is to do just that. Avoiding the sales pitch drivers can now use filters to find the Mack Pinnacle CXP613 commercial trucks throughout the country in just a couple of minutes. A full service web site for truckers is our vision. For many years truckers have been obligated to search dealer by dealer hoping that their dream tractor-trailer would be in one of the dealers they would walk into. Our parts and service page is effective in finding specific parts that a driver needs to repair or tune-up their commercial truck. This is the way we are innovating the trucking industry and making a full service web site for the truck driver.
Online advertising for truck dealers is what done effectively and efficiently and is in the business of advertising dealers who are interested in expanding their trucking empire. To find out how Truck Buyer Corporation can help your dealer increase sales and expand opportunities for your business. We have successfully built a web site where people can find great trucks, and also find insurance quotes, financing, dot inspection, transportation etc…. We also built other divisions that serve not only the people looking for a truck, but for existing drivers who are in love with their truck but need parts or services.
Well in one example our business is Truckers not trucks. Let me explain. While many companies out there are focusing on only making profits as a result of advertising trucks on the Internet, we are going the extra mile to not only focus on what produces revenues but on what a trucker really needs, which is certainly more than just having a truck. Avoiding the sales pitch drivers can now use filters to find the perfect truck throughout the country in just a couple of minutes. Saving the time of having to drive around town in search for a part nobody may carry. When people think of trucking we want them to think of Used Commercial Truck. Since the rise of the Internet truckers and companies have been increasingly aware of the efficiency of searching for International Commercial trucks online. We want to make Searching for a truck fun and easy.
